- Adolescent Safeguarding in London handbook for guidance on working with adolescents please refer to this practice handbook.
The Specialist Adolescent Service and is a multi-disciplinary service that focuses on working intensively with high risk adolescents, aged 11-18, and their families to prevent entry into care (including Remand) or high-risk taking behaviours. There is a particular focus on working intensively and establishing a positive and trusting relationships with young people and families. A "what works" approach is used to engage families in a way that works for them and which we hope will bring about better outcomes.
The team prides itself on being able to work with the most mistrusting young people, to show them that we really can help them make a change for the better. We are not a statutory service but work alongside our colleagues with statutory responsibilities to support and compliment social work intervention. The Service is co-located with iCAT/FSCP/CAS/DCT at 145 King Street, Hammersmith.
You can request further information on our services by contacting a member of the management team by phone or e-mail and we will be happy to talk to you through our referral criteria and how we can best support you.
